4-Ingredient Hamburger Foil Packet Meals

Prep time: 15 mins | Bake time: 45 mins | Servings: 4

Ingredients

1.5 lbs ground beef (divided into 4 thick patties)

4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

4 medium carrots, peeled and sliced into thick chunks

1 packet (1 oz) dry onion soup mix

Salt and black pepper, to taste (optional)

2 tbsp butter or oil (optional, for moisture)

Instructions

1. Prep Equipment: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare 4 individual aluminum foil tins (or tear off 4 large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil).

2. Layer Vegetables: Divide the sliced potatoes and carrots evenly among the bottom of each foil tin or center of each foil sheet. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

3. Add Hamburger Patties: Shape the ground beef into 4 round patties. Place one patty directly on top of the vegetable bed in each tin.

4. Season & Seal: Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the top of all 4 beef patties (add a small pat of butter on top of each if desired). If using foil sheets, fold the sides up tightly to seal into airtight foil packets. If using foil tins, cover each tin securely with aluminum foil.

5. Bake: Place the tins or packets onto a baking sheet and bake for 40–45 minutes, until the potatoes and carrots are tender and the patties are fully cooked through.

6. Serve: Carefully open the packets (watch out for steam) and serve directly from the tins for easy cleanup.
